  • Patterns and Algebra: solving equations using the order of operations with whole numbers and brackets (parentheses), writing expressions that include variables based on descriptions or concrete and pictorial representations (such as algebra tiles), solving for an unknown variable in equations involving different operations, solving for the value of a variable using the order of operations with whole numbers and brackets (parentheses).
  • Statistics and Probability: reading and creating bar graphs, reading and creating pictographs, reading and creating double bar graphs, reading and creating stem and leaf plots, first and second-hand data, range and mode, one-to-one and many-to-one correspondence.
  • Measurementperimeter of rectangles, area of rectangles, comparing perimeter and area, metric referents, metric conversions.
  • Geometryreflection symmetry (lines of symmetry), rotational symmetry, order of rotation, plotting and reading coordinates on the first quadrant of the Cartesian plane.
